Lois Dean Bartcher was born May 3, 1930 and raised on the family farm south of Lebanon, Kansas. She was baptized in the creek on the farm and later became a member of the Odessa United Methodist Church in Datonia, Kansas. She passed away on April 6, 2008.

Visitation will be 10:30 to 11:30 am, Wednesday, April 9, at Park Lawn Funeral Home, 8251 Hillcrest Rd.., interment will follow at the Memorial Park Cemetery. Lois was preceded in death by her parents Joseph and Hazel Bartcher, five sisters, two brothers, and her husbands T.L. Harvey and Jeff Davis. Lois graduated from Lebanon High School, Lebanon, Kansas in 1949 and moved to Kansas City where she trained to be a stewardess. However, during the training she realized she hated to fly! Being a go-getter she found employment with Ideal Truck Line where she worked along side her sister Bonnie for over 26 years retiring in April of 1980. In 1970 she married Jeff Davis and they later moved to Lake Pom De Terre, he passed away in 1982, she moved back to Kansas City close to her sister. She renewed old aquatints' especially T.L. Harvey whom she married in 1985 and was adopted by his loving family of six children, sixteen grandchildren and eight great grandchildren.

Lois was always interested in news about the families and enjoyed all the telephone calls, cards and visits from them. She spent a lot of her time managing the finances for her sister Bonnie and herself which she did in a meticulous manner. She and Bonnie as sisters were very, very close and it was a difficult time for her when Bonnie passed away in December of 2007. Lois loved the color pink and was always looking for ways to fill her home with it! Usually you would find her in a pink flowered blouse and slacks with beautiful dangly earrings when you came to visit! Her finger nails were always pained a deep shade of pink to match. During these visits she wanted to know all about your family and what you had been doing; she had a great listening ear. As we all ponder our relationships with her, we can agree that she was a feisty, jovial gal with a cheerful laugh, always on the ball and interested in each of our lives. It has been a special blessing to know and be loved by her.

On February 14, 2008 Lois became ill and was unable to overcome the sickness. She passed away peacefully April 6th with her family near. Do not let your hearts be troubled as Lois lived a wonderful and full life and was ready to go to heaven!
