Dave was born on June 13, 1932, to Delbert and Grace (Double) Croll. He attended Slippery Rock High School and then worked on his family farm, eventually retiring from Cooper Brothers in 1994 after 32 years of hard work.
In retirement he spent his time woodworking, gardening, fixing things around the house, or simply sitting in his chair enjoying the outdoors. If you were lucky enough to spend time with him, you were sure to leave with a story that would make you smile.
In January 1960, Dave married the love of his life, Shirley (Vessella). Dave and Shirley went on to have three children, Charleen (Bill) Stoughton, Cynthia (David) Gray and Ronald (Melissa) Croll. His family was his entire world. The highlight of his week was Sunday dinners with his children, six grandchildren, Lindsay, Billy, Greggory, Gary, Derrick and Jordan, as well as his great-grandchildren.
