Charlotte Marie Wise, 92, of Winfield, Kansas, passed away Wednesday morning, August 16, 2023, at Winfield Senior Living.

Born August 11, 1931, in Winfield, she was the daughter of Fred William and Celestia Olive (Davison) Rush. She was raised in Otto, Kansas south of Dexter where she attended school until moving to Winfield, graduating from Winfield High School in 1949.

She was united in marriage to George Edmond Wise on October 2, 1949, at her parent's home in Otto. The couple made their first home in Otto, where Charlotte worked as a telephone operator. The family later moved to Winfield and in 1958, moved to Park City, Kansas. Charlotte began her career with Wesley Medical Center as a Nurse's Assistant. In 1969, the family moved back to Winfield and Charlotte began commuting to Wesley. She held many positions at Wesley over her 40 year career and retired as Payroll Manager in 1995. George preceded her in death in 1995.

She was a member of Grace United Methodist Church where she sang in the choir and served as Lay Leader. As a member of Kairos Outside Prison Ministry she served as a Leader. She also helped with Walk to Emmaus, and served on the Camp Horison Board of Trustees. She enjoyed going on volunteer mission trips with the United Methodist Church, reading, crocheting, bowling, boating, water skiing, camping, hunting, target shooting, trap and skeet shooting, and fishing. She especially enjoyed time with her children, grandchildren.

Her family includes her daughter Donna Jean Frazier and husband, James; her son Brian Edmond Wise and wife, Jill; her brother Alan Ray Rush; her sisters, Ida Jean Finney; Esther Faye Sanborn; Neta Dorthea Stanley; her sister-in-law Sandra Gammon Rush; six her grandchildren; her eleven great grandchildren; and her four great-great grandchildren.

In addition to her parents and husband of 45 years, Charlotte was preceded in death by a brother Ralph Rush, a daughter Lora Goosey, and a grandson Lucas Wise.

Funeral services will be held at 9:30 a.m., Saturday, August 26, 2023, at Tisdale Methodist Church. Interment will be held at 12:00 P.M at Maple City Cemetery. A visitation is scheduled at Miles Funeral Service on Friday from 4 to 8 P.M. The family will greet visitors from 4 to 6 that evening.

Memorials have been established in Charlotte's name for Kairos Outside Prison Ministry and for Tisdale Methodist Church. Contributions may be made through the funeral home.
