J. Burton Crafts, 67, a lifelong resident of Wilmington, died Friday at his home. He had been ill for several months. Cremation is planned and there will be no funeral services. The ashes will be deposited on family-owned land in Somerset in the fall. He was born in Wilmington April 16, 1905, son of Roswell P. and Meda (Gilbert) Crafts. He engaged in logging for many years. His marriage to the former Viola Lyle, who survives, took place in Brattleboro on May 21, 1932. Other survivors are a son, George, of Wilmington; a daughter, Mrs. Martha Pardee of Madison, Conn.; a sister, Mrs. Gordon Pike of Wilmington; two brothers, Pliny of Whitingham and Parsons of West Dover, and five grandchildren.
