Anna Joan Black McAllister, age 85, peacefully passed away on a quiet Sunday morning, August 13, 2023, in her long-time beloved home in Kaysville, Utah. Anna's journey began alongside her identical twin sister and best friend, Sanna Jane Black, on November 17th, 1937, in Richfield, Utah. They were born to the loving embrace of Herman and Jane Black.
Anna's life was marked by a unique bond shared with her twin sister Sanna, including her earthly farewell occurring on the same day as Sanna's passing 7 years earlier. This was sure to be a joyous reunion along with many other family and friends that have gone before.
Anna was raised in Antimony Utah where she and her sister enjoyed the small town life on their family ranch. At the age of 10 her entire school was taken on the trip of a lifetime to the "Big City" of Salt Lake sponsored by the Tribune which was reported by newspapers and magazines nationwide. She attended Piute High School, developing life-long bonds with classmates that
she maintained through regular lunch dates that she never missed.
Anna's pursuit of knowledge culminated in her graduation from the College of Southern Utah (SUU). It was during this time, as fate would have it, she met the love of her life, Robert Samuel (Sam) McAllister. They were married in the Salt Lake City Temple on September 4, 1958, spending 66 blissful years of their lives together. They shared three sons and five grandkids and above all she was devoted to her family and faith. Anna was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Her unwavering devotion to her beliefs shaped her life and illuminated the path she walked.
You could always find her in the library at church helping people out with a smile and a story. She also had a love for music and playing the piano. For many years she enjoyed her calling as organist for the Kaysville 8th Ward. She had many callings over the years including serving in the Relief Society and as the Primary President. She was also called to be an ordinance worker
for the Bountiful Temple. Along with Sam, she also served a mission as "Member Locators" for the LDS church in Salt Lake City.
She loved gardening and was known for keeping the most impeccable and beautiful garden. She seemed to know if even one weed or leaf was out of place. Every year she loved making her famous raspberry jam which she would gift to her neighbors every Christmas. If you visited during the summer you would be hard pressed to walk away without a handful of fresh
vegetables (especially tomatoes).
She always kept her house immaculate; don't even think about walking on the freshly- vacuumed carpet. One wipe of the kitchen countertop was never enough. Any visitors to the home always commented on how beautiful it was. She truly had a talent for decorating and creating a piece of heaven in her home.
She loved people and getting to know them. She always wanted to know how you were doing and all about your life. She never missed Book Club or Family Home Evening Group, often socializing long into the night.
Anna is survived by her husband, two sons, six grand children and two great grandchildren.
