He was the son of Jeremiah and Millie (Wiley) Butcher. He and his wife Millie had 6 children, of which his youngest, Daniel preceded him in death.

MISSOURI VALLEY - Jerry J. Butcher, 75, of Missouri Valley died March 29 at the Community Memorial Hospital in Missouri Valley.

He was born Oct. 25, 1925, in Woodbine to Jeremiah and Millie (Wiley) Butcher. He served in the U. S. Army during World War II and the Korean War. He worked for 30 years for the Omaha Redi-Mix as a truck driver.

Mr. Butcher and his wife, Millie (Piper), were married April 14, 1952.

Survivors, in addition to his wife, include three daughters, Geri Phagan of Winsor, Colo., Teri Bowman of Nunn, Colo., and Ronda Mauseth of Missouri Valley; two sons, Randy of Missouri Valley and Allen of Temple, TX; one sister, Dorothy McHugh, of Primerose; 11 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

Visitation with the family will be from 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday at the Hennessey-Aman Funeral Home in Missouri Valley.

Funeral will be Monday at 10 a.m. at the funeral home with the Rev. Brandt Freeburg and the Rev. Gerald Leesburg officiating.

Burial will be in the Magnolia Cemetery in Magnolia, followed by lunch and fellowship at the Church of the Nazarene on U.S. Highway 30 at Sunnyside.
