Danville native enjoyed painting, reading Donna Jean (Holdren) Allender, 55, of Enola, went home to be with her Lord and Savior, on Tuesday, Aug. 2, 2005. Donna was born on Nov. 21, 1949, in Danville, the daughter of Myles (Jack) and Betty Dauberman Holdren. She was a member of the Capital Area Christian Church and was a graduate of Warrior Run High School in Turbotville. She enjoyed painting, reading, vacationing and most of all, her family.
On Aug. 18, she would have celebrated her 26th wedding
anniversary with her husband, Richard V. Allender.
Surviving in addition to her husband and her parents in
Danville, are a daughter: Wendy Derr and husband, Charles (Ed), of Watsontown; a son: Shawn Barto of Enola; three stepchildren: Joy Smith and husband, Jimmy, of Poteau, Okla.; Isaac Allender and wife, Tammy, of Flanders, N.J.; Hope Johnston and husband,Sam, of Phoenix, Ariz.; 11 grandchildren: Nathaneal and Tiffany Derr; Felicia, Anna, Tyler and Jacob Allender; Trevin and Nicholas Smith; Hanna and Haley Johnston; and Madison Dreary;two brothers: Jimmy Holdren and wife, Diane; Terry Holdren and wife, Phylis, both of Danville; and her love, Corky.She was predeceased by a stepson, Timothy Allender.The funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at the Spitler Funeral Home, 733 Broad St., Montoursville, with the Rev. Donald Hamilton, her pastor, officiating. Interment will follow in the Montoursville Cemetery. Friends will be received on Saturday from 10 to 11 a.m. at the funeral home.
