James R. Mullen, Rossie, Dies Here
James Robert Mullin, assistant postmaster for more than 25 years and a merchant at Rossie, died Friday monirng, Jan 26, at 6:00 at the Edward John Noble Hospital, Gouverneur, following a long illness. Death was attributed to a heart condition and hardening of the arteries.

Mr. Mullin was born in the town of Macomb April 15, 1873, son of John and Ellen Hunter Mullin. He attended schools at Macomb and later engaged in farm work with his father. About 40 years ago he became assistant post master at Rossie. His cousin, Mrs. Rose Phalen, was postmaster and the two operated a general store. Mrs. Phalon died a few years ago in a fire in her apartment. Mr. Mullin continued the operation of the stone, but on December 1 his condition became such that he was brought to Gouverneur where he resided with his brother, William M. Mullin, 325 East Main street.

Mr. Mullin was taken to the hospital a week before he died.

Besides his brother, William, he is survived by another brother, Daniel G. Mullin, Natural Dam Road. Mr. Mullin was unmarried.

Prayer service was held at the William Mullin home on Monday morning at 9:30 and 10:30 funeral services were conducted at St. Patrick's church, Rossie, with the Rev. Armand Brunet officiating. Bearers were Joseph I. Best, Charles D. Kane, Earl R. Brasie, and Earl Truax. Burial was made in Rossie Catholic cemetery.
