Daughter of Glenn and Olive Lee Bainbridge. She was sister to older brother Robert, younger brother Frank, and sister, Nancy who passed away at 1 day old in 1933. Thanks to her father's real estate business, she met many celebrities and dignitaries as a teenager, including Fred Astaire, Ginger Rogers, Bob Hope, and John Huston, while spending her sweet 16 summer in Hollywood. She was president of her sorority in high school and a chosen student leader at Stephens College in Missouri. After transferring to Vanderbilt University in Nashville, she met Frank Acton, Jr. in a class they attended. They married in 1951 and eventually settled in Marietta, GA, where they raised 8 children. She worked as a clerk at Bells Ferry Pharmacy in Marietta before meeting and marrying her second husband, Charles Garrett. she was preceded in death her parents; both husbands; brother, Robert Bainbridge; and four children, Tom, Kathryn, Mike, and Mary. Her four remaining children, Steve (Patty), Nancy, Linda (Steve) and Andy (Anne), and more than 50 grand-, great- and great-great-grandchildren will miss her.
