Frank G. Secord, 63, of Nampa, passed away at his home, surrounded by his loving family, on Wednesday, July 14, 2010, following a courageous battle with cancer. A Funeral Service to honor and celebrate his life will be held at 2 PM on Monday, July 19, 2010 at the Nampa First Church of the Nazarene, 601 16th Ave. So. – Nampa. Military honors by personnel from the U.S. Air Force Base, Mt. Home, Idaho will be included. Burial will be on Saturday, July 24, 2010 at 10 AM (PST) in Seattle, WA. The family will greet loved ones and friends at the Alsip & Persons Funeral Chapel, 404 10th Ave. So. – Nampa – 466-3545 on Sunday, July 18, 2010 from 6 – 8 P.M. Frank G. Secord was born on May 6, 1947 in Chicago, Illinois where he was reared and educated. He graduated from Morgan Park High School in 1966. Following graduation, he enlisted in the U.S. Air Force. He married Judi Norton on May 24, 1969 in Chicago. Following his honorable discharge in Dec. of 1972, he and Judi made their home in West Central, Illinois. In 1975 they and their family moved to Seattle, Washington. Frank was employed by The Boeing Company for 27 years. In 2003, he retired and he and Judi moved to Nampa to be closer to their children and grandchildren. Frank was a member of the Nampa First Church of the Nazarene where he sang in the church choir. Frank was known for his great sense of humor and his ability to make everyone laugh. He enjoyed anything to do with airplanes, boats and animals. He was a wonderful and loving husband, father and grandfather.
Frank is survived by his wife, Judi Secord, Nampa; his children, Angie and Brian Bartlow and Melinda and David Stillman, all of Nampa; and Dan and Alicia Secord, Meridian, ID; his grandchildren, Ally, Parker and Audrey Mae Bartlow and Emily and Brady Secord. He was preceded in death by his parents.
A sincere thank you to the wonderful staff of Mountain States Tumor Institute, and Heart and Home Hospice, for their loving care.
The family suggests that memorial contributions be made to the Nampa First Church of the Nazarene, 601 16th Ave. So., Nampa, ID 83651 for the Music Ministry of the church to purchase a new piano for the choir rehearsal room.
