Donna Chirlin Nowack, 78, of Stuart, Florida, passed away on Sunday, July 23, 2023. She relentlessly battled cancer and the ramifications of the cancer treatment for over a year.

and treasured and adored grandchildren,
Quinn Wilder Matthew,
Christopher Matthew,
and Valenka Matthew Kosick.

Donna was predeceased by
her brother, Donald Chirlin;
and their parents Morris and Helen McLeod Chirlin.

She was proud of her Russian and Scottish heritage.

Donna was born in Norwich, NY on July 10, 1945. Life growing up in Norwich was happy, and she had a busy and fun social life. Donna's life-long love of fashion began with shopping trips with her mother to New York City. She also treasured traveling to New York City with her family to watch doubleheader baseball games.

The music program at Norwich High School was important as she played the flute, was a member of the Purple Tornado Marching Band, and was also the Drum Major. Donna was named by a fellow classmate as "one of the greatest members of the class of 1963."

Donna was a beloved mother, wife and friend. She had unlimited enthusiasm, passion, joy for life, and desire for fun. Donna was an artist, collector, master gardener, fabulous cook, interior designer, had incredible taste, and creativity. She also adored animals, especially cats.

Donna's life was full because Donna filled her life. She faced many painful endings but always forged new beginnings, making new friends along the way. No matter which segment of her life you were part of, you were connected to all of Donna's life and friendships. She shared so much of herself.

Donna once mentioned that her life's goal was to be playing cards on the beach at 80 years of age. She got so close to achieving this goal.

A burial will occur at a future date at Mount Hope Cemetery in Norwich. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to your local Humane Society.
