He is survived by wife of 25 years, Marilyn Young Gardner; sons and daughters-in-law, Johnny & Ann Gardner, Walnut Cove, NC, Donnie & Trisha Young, Walkertown, NC, and Steve & Amy Stroud, Walnut Cove; grandchildren, Christina Pettitt, King, NC, Ryan Gardner, Walnut Cove, Taylor & Dakota Young, Walkertown, and Lydia & Landon Stroud, Walnut cove; sisters, Irene Sands & Violet Stafford; brothers and sisters-in-law, Leo & Mary Gardner and Eugene & Nancy Gardner. He was preceded in death by his parents, John William & Betty Jane Gardner; sisters, Peggy Wright & Bessie Brown, and brothers, Jesse & Moyer Gardner. Interment followed funeral services conducted at the Welcome Door Baptist Church, Kernersville, NC, Thursday, December 29, 2005.
