OBITUARY: Menomonee Falls News Apr 3, 1915 "DEATH CALLS HENRY TENNESON Long a Resident and respected Citizen. The ever recurring toll that makes inroads among the ranks of our community's pioneers, has again taken from his family, neighbors and friends, one of ________men. The end was not unexpected yet, it caused sorrow and regret to all. Henry Tenneson passed over to the great beyond, Friday Evening March 26, following a gradual breaking down which he had felt for years. He had been affliced with heart trouble and at times suffered very severely. Of a courageous nature, he bravely combatted ill health and always was cheerful even to the last. He enjoyed the company of friends and his home was notable as a place of hospitality. Mr. Tenneson was a native of Cologne, Germany where he was born Mar 3, 1849. His Father, Mathew Tenneson , with a family of boys immigrated to America in the year of 1856 and settled on a farm in the town of Granville, where they were influential residents for many years.
In the month of October 180 he was united in marriage to Anna Maria Fuss, the daughter of a well known Menomonee pioneer, who had settled in Fussville, in the early forties.

Of this union they were blessed with four children, one a daughter died in infancy, the three sons, Harry, Joseph and Oscar, with their mother two brothers, and three sisters survive to mourn the loss of husband, and father and brother in the truest sense of the word. The deceased came to Menomonee to reside at the time of his marriage and continued as his domicile, the original homestead of Mr. Fuss. In his year of labor, he built up a splendid farm and gave attention to the raising of good horses. He was a lover of find horses. Next to his family and friends he enjoyed music. He never was happier than when among kindred spirits musically bent, and for many years he and his brothers gave splendid service as members of St. Anthony's Church choir. A generous, loyal true-hearted man, his going away will long be regretted by all who knew him. The last rites which were held from his home and at St. Anthony's Church monday morning of this week was a testimonial of his worth and reflected to love and affection reposed in his family and friends. Many beautiful floral offerings were tendered the large auditorium of St. Athony's being filled and they came from far and near, to offer tributes of respect. Rev. Nicolas Schaar, officiated at the solemn services, when they followed his remains to the cemetery close by, and with heavy hearts, gently laid him aside, there to rest among his kindred until the ressurection."
