Wanted
, young Man, with knowledge of wheelwrighting; one three or four years at the trade preferred. Apply T. F. Boyd, Blacksmith, Upper Hutt

NZ Mail, 25 May 1904
Mr T. F. Boyd, Upper Hutt
Centrally-situated in the main thoroughfare of the township of the Upper Hutt, is the shop of Mr R. F. Boyd, blacksmith and farrier, whose work is very highly spoken of by the residents and farmers of the surrounding settlements. Mr Boyd, whose specialty is in the manufacture and fitting of trotting shoes, has also had fourteen years experience as wheelwright and carriage manufacturer. He learnt the trade with Mr W. F. Mason, Wellington. Among sporting men Mr Boyd has well earned a name for first-class trotting shoes and his general work has given the upmost satisfaction to all leaving their orders with him. Speaking of him a farmer friend of mine recently remarked "Without a doubt Mr Boyd is one of the best horse-shoers I have ever had anything to do with. I wouldn't dream of taking my horses anywhere else." Testimonials like that should be very gratifying to Mr Boyd, who, by the way, is also very popular among the residents.
