Garnett was born November 15, 1925 in Davenport, Iowa. She was the daughter of Samuel and Blanche (Ensley) Baker. She married William Weis on August 27, 1978 in Bettendorf. He preceded her in death in November 2016.
She was a former dance instructor for Arthur Murray and worked in accounting for several area businesses including Lujacks Automotive, for many years prior to retiring. She enjoyed arts and crafts, especially ceramics. She enjoyed flower gardening in her "Japanese "garden and traveling in her earlier years. She was a dog lover having had 2 Boston Terriers over the years.
Those left to honor her memory include her step children: Ron (Jane) Weis, Bettendorf, Penny Fisher, Bettendorf, and Steve (Roberta) Weis, Davenport; grandchildren, Rachelle Carter, Cambridge, IL, Aaron Carter, Coal Valley, IL, Alaina Carter, Rock Island, Melanie McCalley, Valerie Beverly, and Natalie Van Deest; great granddaughter, Hailey Clark, 5 step great grandchildren, half-sister, Blanche Rauch, Princeton, IA and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, son, Gary Carter and seven siblings.
