Fairview - Pearl Allen Adkins, 99, of Fairview, formerly of Swannanoa passed away Saturday, January 10, 2004 at Flesher's Health Care Center in Fairview.
A native of Yancey County, she was the wife of Rex R. Adkins and was the daughter of the late Ellis R. Allen and Jane Ledford Allen. She was preceded in death by a son; Harry Adkins and a grandson; Danny Bailey. One of twelve children, after her marriage, her and her husband move to Swannanoa. She retired from Beacon Mfg. after 45 years in 1969. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and great great grandmother.

She is survived by her daughters; Beatrice Wells, of Hendersonville, Beula (Dee) Farley, of Paris Ky., grandchildren; Beverly Raines,and her husband, Gene; Alice Link, and her husband Ronnie, Marilyn Pittman, and her husband, Robert; Eddie Bailey, and his wife, Judy; Vanessa Adkins; Mark Diamond, and his wife Jane; great grandchildren Jason Bailey, Brian Capps, Allison Link, Eliza Pearl Diamond, and Tucker Aubrey Diamond; great great grandchildren Anthony Capps, Daniel Capps, Elizabeth Capps and Alex Bailey.

Funeral service will be held at Berea Baptist Church. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
