John "Stanley" Burns (82) passed away Thursday, July 20, 2023 at Tishomingo Community Living Center in Iuka. He was a member of Calvary Baptist Church. He was a life-long mechanic and heavy equipment operator. He enjoyed yard work, mowing, flowers, hunting and fishing. He loved spending time with his grandchildren and his dog, Libby.

Services are 2 pm Sunday, July 23, 2023 at the Booneville Chapel of Kesler Funeral Home with Bro. David George and Bro. David Robbins officiating. Burial will follow in Booneville Cemetery. Visitation will be from 12-2 Sunday, July 23, 2023 at the Booneville Chapel of Kesler Funeral Home.

Stanley is survived by his wife of 61 years, Joan Nicholson Burns; his daughters, Paula Jacobs (Wesley) of Rienzi and Christie Robbins (Larry) of Kossuth; his brother, RB Burns (Virginia) of Booneville; his sister, Dean Harris of Booneville; hi sister-in-law, Linda Burns of Booneville; his brother and sister-in-law, Billy and Brenda Nicholson of Baldwyn; his grandchildren, Ryan, Hunter and Mackenzie Jacobs of Rienzi, Meagan Weber of Salt Lake City, UT, Molli Fazio (Christopher) of Kossuth and Sam Robbins of Kossuth; his beloved dog, Libby, several cousins, nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, and many life-long friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Elton and Ruth Burns; his brother, Hayden Burns and his brother-in-law, Max L. Harris.

Pallbearers are Greg Burns, Larry Robbins, Wesley Jacobs, Hunter Jacobs, Ryan Jacobs and Dan Robbins.
