Ruby L. Cannon, 92, passed away at Palatka Health Care Center on Friday, May 5, 2000, after a brief illness.
She was a native and lifelong resident of Putnam County. She had been employed as a bag inspector at Hudson Pulp and Paper Company and she enjoyed hunting and fishing. She had also been a member of Peniel Baptist Church for many years.
She was preceded in death by her husband, James Claude Cannon; two sons, Johnnie Carl Cannon, MSG, John William Cannon; one granddaughter, Linda Worgam and three sisters, Margaret Wieneke, Frances Wieneke, and Edith Rose; and one brother, James Edward Grooms.
Survivors include two daughters, Claudine Priester of Satsuma and Wynonah Sikes, of Grandin; one daughter-in-law, Gertiephine Cannon; one son-in-law, James I. Sikes; two sisters, Hellen Lopez and Winifred Caruso, both of Palatka; eleven grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday at graveside in Peniel Cemetery with Rev. Jim Blevin officiating.
