Catherine Cobb was the widow of Reverend Nathan Cobb. The couple had at least seven children, some of whom died young. She was the mother-in-law three times over of the same man, Rev. John Dinsmore, a Congregationalist minister. Her daughter Althea Cobb was the first of Rev. John Dinsmore's three wives. He married second, Althea's sister Katie (1835-1872), and after her death he married their sister Sarah E. Cobb, widow of Samuel Chapman (Sarah lived 1832-1924.) Catherine resided with pastor Dinsmore and his respective wives from 1860 until her death in 1890.
