Barbara was born in Pennsylvania to Maria Barbara and John Joseph Schmidt. She married Jacob Leib on April 1st, 1798 in Lancaster, Pennsylvania. Her family followed her daughter and son-in-law, Daniel Holl, to the Northern area of Stark County. Barabara and Jacob had six children together and these included: Barbara, married to Daniel Holl; Catherine, married to Christopher Stehman; David; Elizabeth, married to Jacob Stoner; Mary, married to Henry Kile; and Nancy, married to Samuel Cassler. Jacob preceded her in death. Catherine (Lieb) Stehman is the only child that remained in the Pennsylvania area. In her Will, Barbara apointed two of her sons-in-laws to administer her estate, these were Daniel Holl and Samuel Cassler. She is buried in North Canton Cemetery with her husband Jacob and son David. The stones are possibly illegible.
