Virginia Dale was the daughter of James and Ann Wills Dale. She married Harvey Gipson in 1851 in Boone County, IN, and was the mother of five children: James Thomas, Armilda, George, William, and Amos. She and her family moved from Indiana to Missouri, where she lived out her life, first in Bates County, and eventually in Jackson County. After Harvey's death in 1909, Virginia lived with her son William on Drury Avenue in Kansas City, where she died in 1916.
