Saturday March 25th, 2023. Lawrence Lentz, 93, longtime resident of Guilford CT passed away at Artis Memory Care, Branford. Larry was under hospice care and succumbed to the progression of his Dementia. He leaves us to join his cherished wife Amy who has awaited him since her departure on Nov 26th, 2021.

In 1954, Larry & Amy met on a blind date in Forest Hills, NY. Her beauty and his charm set the stage for their beautiful life together.

Larry was a dedicated and supportive father who would have done anything for the betterment of his children. He leaves a loving family to honor his memory, including his four children and their families: Karen Lentz Magovern and her husband Robert Wilsusen of Manhasset NY, Gregory Lentz of Greenville SC, Cindy Lentz Wallace and her husband Jonathan of Guilford, Jodi Lentz Crimmins and her husband Terry of Natick, MA.

He adored his ten grandchildren: Margaret Szmidt and husband Adam, John Magovern and his wife Katherine, Laura Hynes and her husband Eric, Justin Wallace and his partner Sophia Kelleher, Connor Wallace and his fiancé Jaime Conway, Austin Wallace, his girlfriend, Erica Vicino. Rachel Lentz, Andrew Lentz, Ian Crimmins, and Harper Crimmins. He also was blessed with five great grandchildren: Evie, Jack, Hannah, Lily and Amelia.

Larry honorably served in the US Army from 1951-1953. His professional career included many years as an executive sales representative in the dairy industry leading to the successful management of his own distribution business, Dairy Craft Inc. in 1987.

Larry was a man for all seasons and a master of all trades. There wasn't a thing that he couldn't fix or a contraption that he couldn't concoct! He was a born athlete and a lifelong musician. He played piano and accordion. He entertained both family and friends and loved teaching piano to his grandchildren. Larry was a handyman, no project was too complicated for his skills. Larry could do it all! He gardened and scaled many trees. Much to Amy's dismay, he never paid anyone to do anything that he could do himself. And now is not the time to go into his torment with new england stones.

He was a communicant at St George Church in Guilford and a devoted child of God. A mass will be held Tuesday March 28th at 11:00 AM at St George Church, 33 Whitfield St. Guilford CT. Interment to follow at St. George Cemetery. After burial, Friends and Family are invited to join the family at The Madison Beach Hotel, 94 W Wharf Rd. Madison CT.
