Elvira Johnson, daughter of Clark Johnson of Hinckley, Ohio and Polly Ferria of North Royalton, Ohio, first married Phares Carpenter of Hinckley, Ohio. They had a daughter, Minnie in 1882, but unfortunatly, their child passed away in 1883. Elvira's husband Phares also passed away two years later in 1885. On December 14, 1886, thirty-eight year old widow, Elvira remarried to Spencer F. Codding of Hinckley, Ohio. She lived in Hinckley, even after her second husband died on April 21, 1910. At her death, Elvira was buried next to her first husband, Phares, and her only child, Minnie.
