She worked for many years at Evans Cafe and also worked at T.J. Maxx and Venture. Sharon enjoyed going to many different churches and was active in their choirs. She was a talented painter, liked playing bingo and doing crafts. Sharon loved caring and spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Sharon is survived by her daughters, Tina Thompson of Evansville, IN, and Faye Henderson (Andy) of Evansville, IN; son, Danny Skimehorn of Evansville, IN; sister, Clara Montgomery (Truman) of Chucky, TN; brothers, William Burns of Evansville, IN, Harold Burns of Evansville, IN, Frank Smith of Evansville, IN, Bobby Burns (Ruth Ann) of Evansville, IN, Fred Burns (Kay) of Mt. Vernon, IN and Jimmy Burns (Ginny) of Evansville, IN; grandsons, Ryan, Aaron (Sheila), Jacob, Austin (Bre), Blake and Dominic; granddaughter, Angel; great grandchildren, Serenity, Malia, Kaitlyn, Zoey, Maria, Honesty, Ilona, Lyric, Harper and Brynnley.
Sharon was preceded in death by her daughter, Loretta Lynn Joines; mother, Sarah (Parson) Taylor; father, William Otto Burns; sister, Flora Bell; and brothers, Don Smith and Larry Burns.
A celebration of Sharon's life will be held at 1:00 pm on Monday, July 10, 2023 with Rev. Gary Joines officiating. Burial will follow at Locust Hill Cemetery. Friends may visit from 9:00 am until service time on Monday at the funeral home.
