MULLIN.--The Rev. William Mullin was born near Norristown, Pennsylvania, May 10, 1817, and died in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, May 25, 1893. He was converted in his youth, and united with the Methodist Episcopal church. He was admitted on trial in Philadelphia Conference, Bishop Beverly Waugh presiding. For forty-seven years he was an effective pastor and four years a supernumerary. He was a pure man, a faithful pastor, an able preacher, a loyal friend, and a devoted husband and father. As a debater, he was clear and strong, and was always admired for his strong convictions and his courage in making them known. He filled a number of the prominent Charges of his Conference, and will long be remembered and loved for his work's sake. In his last moments he said: "I have never doubted the divinity of Jesus Christ nor the efficacy of his atonement, and in the faith of it I am resting now."
The funeral services were held at his home, Monday, May 29, in charge of the Rev. C. W. Bickley, D.D., assisted by the Rev. J. A. Lippincott, Rev. George Cummins and Rev. E. I. D. Pepper. The interment was at Mount Moriah, where he sleeps the sleep of the just, to share in the glory of their resurrection.
