Emily A. Munn, 71, beloved wife of Gary Munn, passed away on Tuesday, June 20, 2023.
Born in Augusta, GA, she was the daughter of the late Frank and Evelyn Eakin Atkinson, Jr. She was a 1974 graduate of Erskine College with a B.S. in Home Economics Education. For many years she was a homemaker. Before retiring, Emily worked as an administrative assistant for Hill's Ace Hardware and Lumber in Winder, GA.
Emily was creative and a particularly gifted seamstress. Her grandchildren were often seen wearing a birthday shirt or outfit that Mimi made them. She was a longtime member of Northside Presbyterian Church in Winder, GA before relocating to Fountain Inn, SC to be close to her children and grandchildren.
In addition to her husband of 47 years, Emily is survived by two daughters, Julie Williams (Jack) of Mauldin, SC and Kelley Collins (Graham) of Simpsonville, SC; seven grandchildren, Ethan, Mia, and Kaylee Williams, and Greta, Katie, Charlie, and Henry Collins; and one sister, Fran (Don) DeGregoria of Hilton Head Island, SC.
A visitation will be held Friday, July 14, 2023 from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at Mitchell Road Presbyterian Church followed by memorial service at 11:00 a.m. A private burial will be held at Hammond Cemetery, Beech Island, SC.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Erskine College at https://www.erskine.edu/give/.
