Services for Stella Mae Rowe, 75, Sulphur, Ok, were held at 10:00 a.m., Monday, March 24, 2008, at the Sulphur United Methodist Church with Rev. David George officiating. Interment was in Oaklawn Cemetery with DeArman's Clagg Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
Born November 4, 1932 in Roosevelt, Ok to George Lee LaFever and Beulah Beatrice (Hayslip) LaFever, she died Friday, March 21, 2008, in Sulphur.
She grew up in Roosevelt, graduating from Roosevelt High School in 1952. She married Harwood S. Rowe on March 1, 1953, in Roosevelt.
She was a member of the Sulphur United Methodist Church where she held many offices including secretary with the United Methodist Women and local church conference.
Survivors include her husband, Harwood, a daughter, Beatrice Webb, and husband Carl, Velma, Ok; three sons, Woody Rowe and wife Kathi, Montgomery, Al., George Rowe and wife Leasa, Guthrie, OK, and Charles (Chuck) Rowe, of Sulphur. One brother, Howard LaFever, Peoria, Ill.; four sisters, Mildred Rice, Carlisle, AR, Lois Cameron, Muscle Shoals, AL, LaVeda Washburn, Ukiah, CA, and Sue Pollard of Davis, OK; seven grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, George & Beulah LaFever, brother, Kenneth LaFever and Sister, Dortha Lindsay.
