Mildred Lee Rice, 85, of Carlisle, died Tuesday, March 22, 2011. She and her husband were in the retail grocery business for years. Mildred was preceded in death by her husband, Neal Rice; son, Paul and daughter, Patricia; brother, Kenneth LaFever and sisters, Dortha Lindsay, Stella Rowe, and Laveda Washburn. She is survived by her son, Mark Rice of The Woodlands, Texas; her daughter, Cheryl Ballard of Abilene, Texas; two sisters, Lois Cameron of Alabama and Sue Pollard of Oklahoma; one brother, Howard LaFever of Illinois and four grandchildren, Zachary and Kaitlyn Rice and Amy and Greg Ballard. Rosary will be 6 p.m., Friday, March 25, 2011 at the Westbrook Funeral Home Chapel in Hazen, Arkansas. Visitation will be in the chapel following the rosary. Funeral services will be 10 a.m., Saturday, March 26 at St. Rose Catholic Church in Carlisle.
