Carolyn Smith Riddle, 82, of Kings Mountain, passed away June 28, 2023, at Peak Resources in Cherryville.
She was born February 9, 1941, in Gaston County, the daughter of the late John Chapman and Mabel Allen Chapman.
In addition to her parents, Carolyn was preceded in death by a son, Johnny McLeymore; husband, Leonard Smith; special friend, Bob Bell; sister and brother-in-law, Peggy and Gus Lara.
Left to cherish her memories are her sons, Darryl McLeymore (Nina), and Jeffrey McLeymore (Wendy); grandchildren, Brandy Tippins, Justin, Dakota, Eric, and Blake McLeymore, Kallie Frazier; five great-grandchildren.
A funeral service will be held at 11:00 am Saturday, July 1, 2023, at Midview Baptist Church 703 Margrace Road in Kings Mountain, officiated by Pastor Michael Rice. The family will receive friends from 10 to 11 am at the church on Saturday. The interment will be at Mountain Rest Cemetery in Kings Mountain. Memorials may be sent to Midview Baptist Church Building Fund 703 Margrace Road Kings Mountain, NC 28086. Arrangements are with the West Chapel of Greene Funeral Service located at 216 Archie Whitesides Road, Gastonia.
