Gail Blackburn Obituary
Gail Ann Blackburn

1958 ~ 2023

Our beloved sister, aunt, and friend, Gail Ann Blackburn passed away on June 23, 2023, at the age of 65 after a long illness. She was born on January 17, 1958, in Salt Lake City, Utah to Alvah G. Blackburn and Zetta June Keyes.

Gail graduated from Granite high school in 1976, was a career seamstress, and actively served as a primary teacher in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints for most of her life. Gail never married, but she always said that her calling in life was to be a caregiver for her brother. She loved dogs so much they were considered her children.

Gail is survived by her brothers Calvin Blackburn, Alan Blackburn, Loyd Blackburn, sister Maureen Hendersen, and many nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her dogs Potty, Smoky, Nipper, Sasha, Tiffany, Sally, Fred, Freckles, Lulu, and Allie, her parents Alvah G. Blackburn and Zetta June Keyes, and her brother Alvah "Tinker" Blackburn Jr.

Adam, who was her caregiver for many years expresses his gratitude to Gail for being an amazing aunt, and for the support from her neighbors. Gail is loved and will be dearly missed.

Services for Gail will be held Saturday, July 1, 2023, at 2:00 p.m. with a viewing prior from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at Memorial Redwood Mortuary on 6500 South Redwood Road, West Jordan, Utah, 84123.
