Lower Buffalo Presbyterian Church and Cemetery History
According to WestVirginiaGenalogy.org (History of Lower Buffalo Cemetery), the Lower Buffalo Presbyterian Church Cemetery in Brooke County, WV is one of the oldest cemeteries in the region (established in 1795 when the land was purchased for the church and cemetery). The first church building was erected in 1789. In 1822, the second church was built on a ridge a short distance from the old church location. Later a frame church was built in Independence, Washington CO, PA. The cemetery was not moved. A brick church was built at the Independence location and dedicated in 1918. A cyclone storm in 1944 toppled and shifted some grave stones in the cemetery. Hannah was born in East Nottingham, Chester County, Pennsylvania to Joseph Hudson (b 1717 Ireland, d 1807 East Nottingham, Chester County, PA) and Elizabeth Dunn (b abt 1720, d 1789). A rootsweb outline created by a member of the Street family in the lineage of the Hudson family reveals Joseph Hudson owned a loom at the time of his death and was a weaver. Another Hudson family site included a note that one of the Hudson daughters married a man named Sheppard, and both were weavers for the Revolutionary Army.

This book shows the earliest Dunn (O'Dunn) family originating in Ireland and the Dunn surname symbolizing "family of the hill" and "brown haired." In 1889, Mary married Noah Frederick Palmer (b 5-16-1845 Pike Co, MO, d 10-28-1925 Louisiana, Pike CO, MO). Mary was listed as living with McDowell and Nancy Henry in 1910. Mary's husband, William Rossiter, passed away prior to 1910. Mary's parents were J.L. Wilkinson (from Virginia) and Nancy H.
