From Schaetter Funeral Home:

Karen Murphy Fouse, a precious loving wife, mother, daughter, sister, teacher and friend. She was born in Houston in 1975, to William J. and Sherrie S. Murphy and passed away on June 8th, 2023, in Fredericksburg, Texas. Karen is survived by her husband Rusty Fouse and her daughter Madeleine Fouse of Fredericksburg, Texas.

Karen is also survived by her two brothers and their spouses, Joseph and Jill Murphy of Carlsbad, California and Ryan and Courtney Murphy of Boerne, Texas, as well as many loving uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews, and friends. Karen was also blessed with wonderful God Parents, Sherman and Carla LaBarba of Dallas, Texas.

Growing up in Texas, Karen and her younger brothers loved playing outside and just being together. Karen attended Camp Mystic, in Hunt, Texas, where she was awarded the "M" award and would get relief from the antics of her two younger brothers.

Karen graduated from St. Agnes Academy, Houston, Texas, in 1993, where she was a key member of the Tennis Team who won State in TAPPS. Karen's tennis abilities carried her on to play for the Texas Lutheran College Tennis Team, where she graduated in 1997, with a degree in Elementary Education and Art.

Karen and Rusty met in Dallas, Texas, and were married in Fredericksburg, Texas. In 2010, they were blessed with their cherished, wonderful daughter Madeleine Fouse. The three of them truly enjoyed their frequent trips to Colorado.

For the past year Karen and her daughter Madeleine were blessed with growing closer by having even more time together while both being at St. Mary's Catholic School in Fredericksburg, where Karen taught kindergarten and Madeleine was a 6th grader. Karen was known for her patience and kindness to both her students, their families, and her fellow teachers. Karen was adventurous, loved live music, sunshine, and a good conversation. She was always so friendly, never met a stranger and truly interested in what was going on in life.

Karen - there will forever be a gaping hole in our lives that you once joyfully filled. We love you so very much and will forever be with you!
