Donald "Don" Pettit, 81, of Bastrop, Texas passed away at ST. David's Hospital in Austin, Texas on June 2, 2023.

Don was born February 2, 1942, in Houston, Texas. He graduated from Reagan High School in 1960 where he enjoyed playing baseball and basketball.

Don and Thelma Jean Williamson were married August 7, 1962, in Houston. He worked for Southwestern Bell Telephone Company and transferred to Bastrop in 1985 and retired after 35 years of service.

Don is survived by his wife Thelma Pettit, his two daughters and their spouses Tammy and Lelton Dickey, Lynda Eichorst and Foster Dealing; Four grandchildren and their spouses Jaime and Jason Goodman, Katie and John David Ponce, Jake and Cindy Dickey, Amanda Eichorst and Caleb Weeks; seven great-grandchildren Jenna and Jaxon Goodman, Caroline and Hayden Eichorst, Lucy and Ava Ponce, Cameron Martinez, his sister Stella Jean Kennedy and brother James Pettit, Jr.

Don was preceded in death by his parents James and Bertha Pettit and his sister Annie Dulaney.

Graveside Services will be held at 10:00am on Friday, June 30, 2023 at Ridgeway Cemetery.
