SAMPIETRO, Ildo - A native of Petaluma, age 90 years, Ildo worked for over 55 years as a feed salesman in Marin and Sonoma Counties, retiring from Bar ALE in Petaluma at the age of 84. A World War II US Army veteran, he was proud of his service with the 7th Infantry, taking part in four major combat actions in the Pacific. An avid deer hunter, he also enjoyed gardening, playing the accordion, watching sporting events and was a real people person, enjoying visiting his many friends over the years. Ildo was a member of St Vincent de Paul Parish, Nicasio Parlor #183 NSGW, SIRS #100 and the Accordion Club. He is survived by his wife, Lillian A. Sampietro of Petaluma. Loving father of James (Adriane) Sampietro of Petaluma and Linda (Frank) Grabski of Baton Rouge, LA. Cherished grandfather of John Sampietro, Eric Grabski and the late Nicole Grabski. Beloved brother of Albert Sampietro of Petaluma. Also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. A private committal service for the family will be held at Calvary Catholic Mausoleum, Petaluma. A celebration of life for Ildo will be held at a later date. If desired, memorials may be made to your favorite charity. The family was assisted by PARENT-SORENSEN MORTUARY & CREMATORY.
