Body Of George Flournoy Found In Ranch Field Near Paskenta Home
Corning , April 1.— George B. Flournoy 57, was found dead yesterday afternoon about one mile from the ranch home of C. E. Flournoy, of the Flournoy section. Flournoy left the house at 8 o'clock yesterday morning to get some horses in the pasture. when he failed to return for lunch the family became alarmed and started a search. The body was found about 5 o'clock by his sister, Mrs. O. W. Houston and a nephew, Vernon Flournoy. Deputy Coroner G. F. Hoyt was called from Corning and brought the remains to the Corning mortuary. It is believed a heart attack was the cause of death.
Almost a month ago Flournoy, who had been a sufferer from neuritis had a severe heart attack and was still under a physician's care.
George B. Flournoy was the son of the late George and Nannie Flournoy, pioneers of the Flournoy section. He was born May 17, 1875 (1874) at the old family residence and had lived in that district for practically his entire life.
Surviving are three sisters, Mrs. R. E. Gibson and Mrs. Fannie Harbert of Flournoy, and Mrs. O. W. Houghton , of Corningand four brothers W. E. and C. E. Flournoy of the Flournoy district W. F. Flournoy of Corning and T. F. Flournoy of Paskenta. There are 15 nephews and nine nieces.
The funeral will be held at 2 o'clock Saturday afternoon from the residence of C. E. Flournoy with Rev. Homer A. McCarty officiating. Internment will be in the family plot at Flournoy.

LARGELY ATTENDED BY FRIENDS—RELATIVES
Corning, April 4.—- One of the largest funerals in the Flournoy section for sometime was held Saturday afternoon at the home of C.E. Flournoy, for the late Geo. B. Flournoy who was found dead in the field Thursday afternoon.
Friends came from far and near with beautiful flowers, as testimony of their respect to one who was a friend to all that knew him.
Rev. Homer McCarty, pastor of the Christian church of Corning officiated. Internment was in the family plot, near the old Flournoy home. The pallbearers were: Messrs. John Heavy , Olney Burt, Fred Hulse, Ray Barker , Herbert Samson and Lester Flood.

George is buried next to his father George Flournoy, south west corner of the cemetery, 2nd row from the top, closest to south fence boundary. No grave marker.
