She was born Dec. 10, 1894, in Stronach, the daughter of the late Herman and Augusta (Matchekowski) Raskey. On August 2, 1913, she was united in marriage to Adolph Schuelke and he preceded her in death in May of 1949. On November 28, 1953 she was united in marriage to Walter Stepka, and he also preceded her in death. Also preceding her in death were a son, Weston Schuelke; a daughter, Ruth Washneski; a grandson, Andy Schuelke; two brothers, Emil and Fred Raskey; by four sisters, Mary Deising, Martha Hansen, Haidee Meyer and Eda Gustaf.
Surviving are: one daughter, Mrs. Geraldine Smith of Manistee; nine grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; 11 great-great-grandchildren; one sister, Mrs. Isabel Miller of Manistee; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral services for Mrs. Elsie E. Stepka will be held Wednesday, March 4, at 1 p.m. at the Trinity Lutheran Church of Manistee with the Rev. D. E. Cordes officiating. Burial will be in the Trinity Lutheran Cemetery.
