Beverly (Luce) Walker Obituary
Daughter of Elbert Chauncey Luce and Vera Ann Thomas. She is survived by her daughter (Roxanne Ellis VanWormer), grandson (Phil), great-granddaughter, and nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by her parents, five husbands, her brother (Clayton Elbert Luce), her sister (Betty Jane Luce), half-brother (William Ford Luce), and half-sister (Florence Louise Luce).

She had visited all 48 contiguous United States before she was 21, a point of pride and a rare feat in 1951. She returned to school to get a nursing license as a single mother in 1967, and practiced until her retirement. She was passionate about genealogy, and passed her enthusiasm to her daughter. She loved to work in her yard, and befriended feral cats. She liked to talk about religion and the Bible, and was inducted into Jehovah's Witnesses as a young woman.

After meeting and marrying her first husband in New York State, they lived together in California, Arizona, Kentucky, Ohio, and Florida. She landed in Florida in 1968; although she moved around the state, she never moved away again. Her long-term home was in Lake City, where she and her late husband (John W. Walker Jr.) tended a large home and grounds for many years. They then moved to Ormond Beach, where each finished this life in 2023.

Mom directed that no memorial service be held.
