Jackie Reed Smith Gooden, 62, of Candler, died Wednesday, June 14, 2000, at her home.
A native of Orangeburg, SC, she was a daughter of the late
Walter Charlton and Ruby Reed Smith Sr. She had lived in Buncombe County since 1971 and was married to the late F.B. "Buddy" Gooden who died in 1994. They were the former owners of Gooden Mobile Homes and former owners and promoters of the Asheville Motor Speedway.
She is survived by two daughters, Debbie Ledford and Kim Wells of Candler; a sister, Marion Gibson of Dayton, OH; a brother, Walter Smith of Columbia, SC; and three grandchildren.
Entombment will be at Forest Lawn Mausoleum.
