Nadine (Gragg) Cross was born on Wednesday; August 20, 1924 in McCook; Red Willow County, Nebraska. She was the daughter of Jessie Raymond and Stella (O'Brien) Gragg.
Nadine attended school in McCook, Nebraska. She then started
working at the McCook Army Base with tool distribution. Nadine worked as a waitress before her marriage at Modrells Restaurant in McCook. Nadine was married to Kenneth Roy Cross on July 10, 1949 in McCook, Nebraska. She helped her husband on the livestock farm and dairy farm, and also drove a truck hauling livestock, then worked at Hinky Dinky Food Store in the meat department as a meat wrapper where she then retired. After retirement she worked very hard to receive her GED, which she was very proud of. Nadine was a member of the Sweet AdeLines. She enjoyed singing, volunteering and traveling. 17, 2008 at the Boone County Hospital in Boone, Iowa. Those left to mourn her passing are: Her four children: Geraldine "Gerry" Murray of Boone, Iowa. Richard (Linda) Cross of Venice; Sarasota County, Florida. Heidi Pinkal (Fred) of McCook, Nebraska. Shannon (Gregg) Pevoteaux of McCook, Nebraska. Her fifteen grandchildren and nineteen great grandchildren. Nadine is preceded in death by her parents, her husband; three brothers: Homer Gragg, Norval Gragg and James Gragg; Her sister: Dora "Dottie" Mae Carlson and her son-in-law: Charles Murray. May they rest in peace. Visitation will be from: 12:00 noon until the time of the service on Thursday; March 20, 2008. Funeral services will begin at: 1:30 p.m. also on Thursday; March 20, 2008 at the Evangelical Free Church in Boone, Iowa with the Reverend Ray Feeck officiating. There will also be a Memorial Service at the Evangelical Free Church, 602 East 14th. Street, McCook, Nebraska on Saturday; March 22, 2008 at 10:30 a.m. Family will be present at the church to receive friends from 9:30 a.m to the time of service. Inurnment will be at the Riverview Cemetery in McCook, Nebraska. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to Evangelical Free Church Home of Boone or Hospice of Central Iowa. For condolences, please visit the funeral home's website.
