Geraldine "Gerry" Raye Murray, age 73, of McCook, Nebraska, passed away at the Community Hospital in McCook, NE. on Tuesday, February 18, 2014.

A Memorial Service will be held at 2:00 P.M., Saturday, March 15, 2014 at the First Evangelical Free Church, 1407 Kate Shelley Drive in Boone. Burial will be held at a later date at Linwood Park Cemetery in Boone.

Geraldine was born in McCook, NE. on April 21, 1940 to Kenneth and Nadine (Gragg) Cross.

Geraldine attended school in McCook graduating from McCook High School in 1958.

On May 16, 1964, she was united in marriage to Charles Murray in Boone, IA.

Geraldine was employed by the Iowa State University as a cook at the Maple Willow Larch Dormitory Complex for over 20 years. In 2009, Geraldine moved to McCook, living at the Emeritus Willow Ridge.

While living in McCook, Geraldine volunteered at the Hillcrest Nursing Home helping out with activities. She also volunteered with the Hospital Auxiliary and was a member of the Sweet Adeline Barbershop singers while living in Boone.

Geraldine enjoyed crocheting scrap booking and the Red Hat Society.

Geraldine was preceded in death by her parents, and husband Charles on April 19, 2004.

She is survived by her three daughters, Deborah and her husband Roger Ahrens of Huron, S.D; Michelle and her husband Kurt Bennett of Indianola, NE; Pam Lakabung and Al Venenga of Gladbrook, IA; her son, Kenneth and wife Carla Murray of McCook, NE; her six grandchildren; her two sisters, Heidi and husband Fred Pinkel, Shannon and her husband Gregg Pevoteaux of McCook, NE; her brother: Dick and his wife Linda Cross of Venice FL and numerous other relatives.

Memorials may be sent to: Geraldine Murray, 1006 East 3rd, McCook, Nebraska 69001. A memorial will be established for her church youth group in McCook, NE, in memory of Geraldine.
