She was born on August 22, 1929 in Hewitt Minnesota.
Alvina lived a full, wonderful life, enjoying her family, her many hobbies and her work careers. She was a nurse for many years until she decided, at the age of 50, to go back to school for her ultimate desire to be a beautician. After graduation she opened her own shop, which she had for 28 years. She finally decided it was time to retire at the age of 78.
Her hobbies included hardanger, crocheting, bingo, gambling, scratch-offs and playing poker…both at the casino and with family and friends.
Alvina had 8 children…Linda, Kenneth (Ginny), Gregory (Nancy), Jan (Tom), Collette (Randy), Mark (Jen), Jimmy and Susan (Tim). She had 18 grandchildren and 24 great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Roger, her son, Kenneth, and her great granddaughter, Hannah. Alvina's loving parents, Anna and Fred Oldenburg, had 12 children and Alvina was the last surviving sibling.
She was a wonderful mother and friend who will be missed immensely. Her memories will be held close to all of our hearts.
Rest in peace, Mom. We love you.
