Our beautiful Toby Bird was an African Gray Parrot, raised from a chick, ca. 1997, by the Allen and Phyllis Moor Family. Toby was adopted in 2012, by Allen's sister Sandy and her friend, Mark, whom Toby died in the arms of, on the morning of 1 June, 2023. Toby gave her family so much unconditional love and pleasure. She was first class.

One of Toby's favorite things to do was play soccer with an almond, knocking the nut around on the floor of her room for hours with her beak and feet. Toby enjoyed the voices of those around her, as she would often mimic her favorite sounds. Toby could be a calming influence, as she would allow herself to be cuddled and scratched on the head. The companionship, comfort and joy she gave to Sandy and Mark on a daily basis was immeasurable.

Toby was laid to rest in the back yard of her home, in her favorite nesting box, with the golf ball she loved to sit on for hours until she would fall asleep. Her sweet little soul will never be forgotten by those who cared for her and loved her grace. It's too quiet around here and we feel somewhat lost without you, Toby. You left us so unexpectedly. We'll love you eternally. "Nite, nite" and "see ya later".
