Chester Ray Brown age 91, of Marietta, Texas, formerly of Dallas, Texas, passed from this life June 3, 2023, in the peace of his home and family in Marietta, Texas.

Chet was born February 25, 1932 in Bowie County, Texas. He was a retired Construction Supervisor; served in the United States Navy during the Korean War where he was a cook and an undefeated boxer. Chet was a Mason for 25 years and was Head Master Mason for 2 years. He was Baptist by faith. He was a true son and brother, an amazing husband and the best dad ever, as well as an awesome grandpa and great-grandpa. Chet enjoyed cooking for his family and working in his garden.

He was preceded in death by his son, Michael Ray Brown; 3 sisters; 5 brothers; and his parents.

Chet is survived by his wife, Jewel Brown; his children, David Brown, and Pamela Robinson and husband Jerry; sister, Dollie Wyninegar; grandchildren, Deacon, Pamela, Sadie, Dessa, Michael, Jordan; great-grandchildren, Drake, Faith and Colton; and a number of other relatives and a host of friends.

Funeral services will be 11:00 am, Tuesday, June 6, 2023, at Oak Ridge Baptist Church, Marietta, under the direction of Hanner Funeral Service, with Dr. Chas Carlisle officiating.
Visitation will be Monday, June 5, 2023, from 6 pm to 8 pm at Hanner Funeral Service.
Interment will be in Flat Creek Cemetery.
