Mary never had children but she loved kids and for many year she taught square dancing at the Grays Harbor 4-H camp. She hosted kids from other states.
She was active member of the Montesano V.F.W. Auxiliary, helping to put together scrap books of all the activities the V.F.W. did. Many photos and newspaper articles.
Her yard was like a show place with all her flowers that she loved. Each year she would go and buy more varieties of daffodil bulbs from the farm in Satsop.
