Florence P. Lau, 98, formerly a resident of New Freedom for 50 years and currently living in New Oxford since 1999, died Wednesday, December 10, 2003 at Memorial Hospital. She was the wife of the late Harry W. Lau. A viewing will be held from 10 a.m. to 12 noon Saturday at J.J. Hartenstein Mortuary, Inc., 24 Second Street, New Freedom. The service will be 12 noon Saturday at the Mortuary with the Rev. Melissa A. McDade officiating. Burial will be in New Hope (Fissel's) U.C.C. Cemetery. Born August 2, 1905 in Alesia, Md., she was the daughter of the late Ira and Daisy (Hershey) Rohrbaugh. She was a member of New Hope (Fissel's) United Church of Christ in Glen Rock and was also a member of the South Central Senior Center of New Freedom and the Golden Visions Senior Center of Hanover. She is survived by one daughter, Beulah Trout of York; one son, Melvin R. Lau, Sr. of New Oxford; four sisters, Mabel Hollingshead of Hampstead, Md., Goldie Calp, Treva Adams and Elma Harman, all of New Freedom; and many grand, greatgrand, and great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by three children, Harry H. Lau, Paul C. Lau and Judy Knisley. Memorial contributions may be made to the South Central Senior Center, 150 E.
