WM. HOTEN PASSES AWAY AFTER TWO MONTHS ILLNESS
Wm. Hoten, well known Chesaning resident for the past 46 years, passed away at his home on Pine Street Sunday afternoon at 4 o'clock after a two month illness from flu, and later developed into dropsy trouble. His funeral was held from the Methodist church on Thursday afternoon at 2 o'clock, Rev. Berry officiating, and burial was made in the family lot at Wildwood cemetery.
Wm. Hoten was born at Waterloo, Mich. on April 20, 1856, and when a lad of fourteen years came to Chesaning, which has since been his home.
On July 4, 1891, he was united in marriage to Miss Ella M. Johnson, who survives, together with one son Verne, at home, and one daughter, Mrs. Mable Hill, of Lansing, seven grandchildren, and one brother Clad Hoten of Chesaning. Fraternally he belonged to the Woodmen.
