In her younger years Mrs. Sampier loved to do crafts of all kinds, was an excellent seamstress, enjoyed traveling with her husband in their motor home, and delighted in fishing and playing cards with friends. She was employed by Fleener's and Safeway Grocery Stores for a number of years, retiring in 1967. She and her husband lived in Walla Walla, Washington for 61 years before moving to Batavia, Illinois to live with their daughter Caroll and son–in-law George Harris.
Mrs. Sampier was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She is survived by her husband of 72 years, Patrick; her daughter Caroll (George) Harris of Batavia, Illinois; her granddaughter Pamela Harris and great granddaughter Madison Harris of Batavia; her grandson Brian (Darla) Harris of Anchorage, Alaska, and great grandchildren James Harris, Brandy Harris, Jessica Harris, and Wilna Harris of Anchorage, Alaska; and great granddaughter Ashley Harris of Moberly, Missouri.
She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers and two sisters.
Zella died peacefully in her daughter's home surrounded by her loving family.
