JP Viars, 90 of Galax, passed away on Wednesday, May 24, 2023.
Mr. Viars was born in Wythe County, Virginia to the late Tasie and Jettie Sutphin Viars.
In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his wife, Euna Lineberry Viars.
Left to cherish his memories are his son, Stevie Viars; daughter, Jamie Sheffey; grandsons, Cody Sheffey (Shelly) and Chase Sheffey; sister, Margie "Sis" Cochran; great-grandchildren, Skye Sheffey and Kennie McCoy; sister-in-law, Donna Jean Rankin; and several special nieces and nephews.
The family would like to give special thanks to Tommy and Becky Davis, Randy and Martha Hurst, Roger and Pat Hill, Jody, and Lynn Funk, and Veatrice Williams for their love, help, and support during these difficult times.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, May 27, 2023, at Hillsville Pentecostal Holiness Church at 12:00 PM with Pastors Jeff Pickett and Theron Phillips officiating. Military rites will be conducted at the church by Hillsville V.F.W. Grover King Post 1115. Burial will follow in the Monta Vista Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends at the church on Saturday from 11:00 to 12:00 prior to the funeral service. Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel is serving the family.
