John Fogleman Jr, age 87, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on Monday, May 8, 2023. He was born in Memphis, TN, on March 7, 1936, and grew up in Marion, Arkansas. He graduated from Marion High School in 1956 where he earned four varsity letters in football, three in basketball, and was Captain of both his senior year. Dad was proud of his involvement in Boy Scouts of America becoming an Eagle Scout and a member of Order of the Arrow. He also served two years on staff at Kia Kima in Hardy, Arkansas. Dad attended the University of Arkansas and is a member of Sigma Chi Fraternity. In 1957, Dad began two years of active duty in the Navy where he was selected as company honor man in Basic Training and served aboard the aircraft carrier USS Midway until his release from duty. After serving, he graduated from the University with a BS in Business Administration.

Dad worked in the investment business for 39 years as a stock broker at Dabbs Sullivan Trulock and Co., a trust investment officer at First National Bank, and an investment advisor at Stephens Capital Management and Meridian Investment Advisors.

Dad enjoyed running, hiking the mountains in Taos, NM and floating the Buffalo River. He ran in several marathons but was most proud of completing the Pikes Peak Marathon at 60 years old. He loved the Arkansas Razorbacks and the Catholic High Rockets. But most of all, Dad loved his family. His children are DeAnne Thomas (Patrick Brooks), Debbie Williamson (Mark), and John Fogleman III (Kilee). His grandchildren include Baylor, Elizabeth and Annie Thomas; Hayden and Griffin Woodall; and Kyle, Kennedy and Cody Fogleman. Dads sisters are Dell Fogleman and Mary Williams (Leven). Dad was preceded in death by his parents Annis and Judge John Fogleman.

Dad lived independently until a short stay in the Comfort Care Center at Hospice Homecare where he was given great comfort in his last days. Dad chose cremation with his family spreading ashes at his favorite vacation spots.

We will celebrate Dads well lived life with a visitation at Ruebel Funeral Home on Thursday, May 11 from 4:00-6:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Catholic High School (6300 Father Tribou Street, Little Rock, AR 72205). Arrangements are under the direction of RuebelFuneralHome.com
