Bernice Dotson Moses Blankenship, 91, of Evington, died Thursday, October 6, 2022, at Centra Gretna Medical Center.

She was born May 29, 1931, in Buchanan County, the daughter of the late William Anderson Dotson and Eunice McClanahan Dotson.

She was preceded in death by a sister, Nella Moore.

She was the wife of Barry Blankenship.

Left to cherish her memories are her husband; son, Ronald Blankenship of Lynch Station; two daughters, Denise Ainsworth of Flagler Beach, FL, and Carrissa Coles of Evington; one brother, Kirby Phillip Dotson and his wife, Jane of Evington; five sisters, Lois Viers and her husband, J.B., Cleo Boaze and her husband, Henry, Lyn Hedrick, Sandra Cheatham and her husband, Jim, and Rebecca Cheatham, all of Evington; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be conducted at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, October 11, 2022, at Altavista Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses by Mike Smith with entombment to follow in Altavista Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at the residence. The family suggests that those wishing to make memorials consider www.jw.org.
